Content Inside: Honda Accord Hybrid Electric Vehicle Accelerated Testing – April 2008 Two Honda Accord hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) entered Accelerated testing during January 2005 in a fleet in Arizona. Each Accord completed 160,000 miles of accelerated testing during January 2008 and the traction batteries were tested before being retired. One page, vehicle fact sheets and maintenance logs have been posted for the Accord HEVs on nearby www pages. The information includes miles driven, fuel economy, operations and maintenance requirements, operating costs, and life-cycle costs. The two Accords were driven a total of 321,000 miles and the cumulative average fuel economy was 28.1 mpg. Note that one Accord was driven 300 miles in January without a fueling event, so the mpg for January is artificially high in the graph.
